A badly burnt man leaves his spaza shop in Bramfischerville after a petrol bomb was hurled into the premises. In the background are residents rushing in to loot the store.
This man suffered burns to his arms and torso after angry Soweto business owners lobbed a petrol bomb into his shop in a bid to dislodge him after he refused to get out.
Thursday’s xenophobic eruption followed an outbreak last month sparked by the deadly shooting of a teenager, allegedly by a Somali shopkeeper, in nearby Snake Park, Dobsonville.
The looting and the violence spread like a virus.
From Snake Park, attacks on spaza shops spread to Naledi, Zola, Emndeni and, finally, Bramfisherville.
The man being threatened by the young Soweto men, who kept shouting: “We’ll bomb you. Get out! Get out!”
They tried to break in by pulling at the burglar bars and smashing him with a panga.
The shopowner screamed for mercy and offered merchandise - a box filled with cigarettes - and money.
While he was in the shop, trying to put out the fire with a blanket, another petrol bomb was thrown inside.
He told the them he did not have the key, but eventually gave in and ran out of the shop, screaming in pain.
The skin on his back and arms was severely burnt and he had a head injury from a steel rod shoved into his face while he was in the shop.
Ao shame mxm frown emoticon you know what? I'm running out of words frown emoticon South Africans where are we going with our hatred? Violence? and all this? No No No we must stop this.

Really bad and I now think the solution will be for them to leave Soweto because they can't live like these.

In 50 years time the children of these thieves will wonder why they live in poverty, have such bad luck and can't find or keep a job........their parents must know now that Karma will deliver a hard blow to them and their families for behaving like wild animals and doing this to another human.
At the Karma restaurant there is no menu, as you are served what you deserve.

All foreigners should just move out of the townships. It will get worst and government can not do anything because of allegiance. The locals can run the spaza shops

Vote for a Government that has better border Control AND one that gives proper shelter, to those running away from terrible situations in their own Countries, without that "shelter" being at the expense of South Africans and their businesses.....Today I am ashamed to know my fellow South Africans make me cry at their inhumanity.
